Description

Two films in one, from filmmakers Joe French and John Sutherland, Heatherhat Productions:

Polldubh (28mins, 4:3)

Polldubh is a celebration of sixty years of rock climbing in Glen Nevis. Jimmy Ness' first ascent of Pinnacle Ridge in 1945 started a wave of development on the southern flank of Ben Nevis. Four climbers – Jimmy Ness, Terry Sullivan, Ed Grindley and Dave MacLeod – revive the first ascents of classic routes at twenty year intervals and give a fascinating insight into climbing in Scotland's finest glen.

'This slice of history in climbing in the Glen has rhythm and grace, respect and unforced humanity. A moving celebration of not just classic routes and their ascensionists but also of memory, time and lasting wonder.' – Andy Grieg

'Made with great care and has real heart and soul.' – Ian Smith, Climb Magazine

Don't Die (14mins, 16:9)

A Scottish winter climbing film, Don't Die tells the gripping story of Dave MacLeod's first ascent of one of the hardest winter routes in the world – Don't Die of Ignorance, X1, 11.

Note: both movies are supplied in one 16:9 SD format file.
